The guide
Is it a printed book or a download?
A download. You get PDF files straight away; nothing is shipped. The pictures of a book and a tablet show the cover and real pages.
What exactly do I get?
The guide: 15 chapters, about 30,000 words, in a large-type illustrated PDF of about 160 pages. The companion workbook: about 45 printable pages of checklists, forms and a 12-week calendar, in US Letter and A4, each in standard and large print. See the full contents.
How large is the type?
The guide is set in large type on a 6 by 9 inch page, so it reads comfortably on a tablet or phone and can be zoomed further. The large-print workbook uses 18-point type with wide lines to write on.
Does it work outside the United States?
Yes. Chapter 2 (what a family faces after a death) and Chapter 7 (where things can go) describe American practice. Everything else works anywhere, and the workbook comes in A4.
Downloading and printing
How do I open a PDF on an iPhone or iPad?
Tap the download link. The file opens on screen. To keep it, tap the share button (a square with an arrow) and choose Books; it will then be on your bookshelf in the Books app.
How do I open it on an Android phone or tablet?
Tap the download link and then the finished download. It opens in your PDF viewer, often Google Drive. The file stays in your Downloads folder.
How do I open it on a Windows computer or a Mac?
Click the download link and open the file from your Downloads folder. It opens in your web browser, Preview on a Mac, or Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free.
Can I read it on a Kindle?
Kindle e-readers show PDFs, but the pages are small on their screens. A tablet, a computer or printed pages work better. You can send the PDF to a Kindle app with Amazon's “Send to Kindle”.
Which workbook file should I print?
US Letter in the United States and Canada, A4 almost everywhere else. Choose large print if small type is tiring. Print one-sided, in black and white, and keep the pages in a three-ring binder; the left margin is wider for the holes.
I lost my download link.
Search your email for “Gumroad”, and check the spam folder. Still nothing? Write to us with the email address you bought with and we will send it again.
Paying
What does it cost?
$27 in US dollars, once. No subscription. Your bank converts the price if you pay in another currency. Any VAT or sales tax that applies is shown at checkout before you pay.
Is my card safe?
Payment is handled by Gumroad. We never see or store your card details. You only go to the checkout when you press a Buy button.
Do I need an account?
No. You only need an email address to receive your download link.
Refunds
What if it is not for me?
Write to support@theswedishway.shop within 7 days with the email address you used. We refund the full price, and you can keep the files. See the refund promise.
About the guide and us
How do you check the facts?
Every fact is checked against a public source, and the sources are listed at the back of the guide with the date we checked them. Where a rule differs from place to place, the guide says to confirm it.
Is this legal or financial advice?
No. It is a practical guide to sorting and planning. Notes about who gets what are wishes, not a will. For wills, trusts, powers of attorney, taxes or valuations, speak to a licensed professional where you live.
